christmas gifts

Ok, so this is a bit weird for me. I'm not really sure what to think about writing what I want for Christmas, because that's not quite right. Let me explain what I'm trying to say. Right now, I'm trying to get rid of things, not acquire new things, so putting down a list seems wrong to me, but there are things which are useful.

If you're buying a gift for me, a general guideline would be to make sure that it's meaningful. I don't want to get things that will just sit. So, if there's something you know that will get used, or if there's a consumable (batteries, cookies, candy, alcohol), it would be the type of thing I'd like to get. Also, let me say that I wouldn't be disappointed at all if I got nothing other than time with the people who would give gifts. In fact, time alone with friends and family might be preferable to material gifts.

That said, I will list a few things here that I would use, some of them expensive, which I realize I won't likely get:

A new single volume 50th anniversary edition of The Lord of the Rings (or this), my paperbacks are coming apart.
Any good small combo jazz guitar, Ed Bickert, Kenny Burrell, and Wes Montgomery come to mind. Also Jimmy Smith is good, even though he's organ. Or new people I haven't heard.
Some guitar effects for my electric. Let's see, digital delay pedal from Boss, or their loop station. Or the micro synthesizer from electro harmonix.
In the guitar world, I'm also looking for a good small tube amp, probably in the 5 - 25 watt range.
I also would like, almost need, a new acoustic. I'm looking for a solid top acoustic with mahogany top back and sides. I'd like a fishman acoustic/electric pickup in it.

That's about all I can think of right now. Keep in mind, I know some of things aren't exactly gift items, and I really mean when I say that I would be so happy just to spend some time alone, relaxing with friends and family.
